A Non-Sheepish Introduction to the Wool World of Sustainability - Friendsheep - Eco Dryer Balls

I forget what Christmas it was, but it certainly was during my mom's dive into the world of sustainability. She was in a program to get her PhD for sustainable tourism, and she was looking into enhancements to lower our carbon foot prints. So on this Christmas, I received a gift in my stocking, three little soft penguin balls, made of condensed wool, with each ball roughly 3 inches in diameter.

I was very confused, but entertained! I think I took a ball almost instantly and threw it at my dad to catch, to which I don't think he was pleased due to him being unprepared. Little did I know, my mom was about to change the course of my life, my mom went on to explain that the little friendly critters would be my replacement to all dryer sheet needs.

I thought, neat... I still liked them better as something to chuck at family members...

BUT! I began to understand the value, when I realized that I never had to buy another $10 box of dryer sheets. Also, as I became a little more aware of my carbon footprint, it was one less thing going to the landfill (plus all the time it took to walk to trash can and put the dryer sheet in there from after a load... UGGGGG ;)).

That was at least 5-6 years ago, and these little friends are still with me, and have become a fun thing for my young kids to stumble upon every once in a while. Every now and then they also take the opportunity to chuck the little ball at an unsuspecting dad, just like I had done to mine not too long ago.

The brand friendsheep is committed to doing sustainable good and I am pleased to partner with them, as they were my first eco-friendly item and regularly used. We even have those little friendly Penguins in the shop to purchase if you are so daring :D

For small to medium loads, use 3 balls, for larger loads, you'll want 6.
